Big apartments: Casa padronale

Casa Padronale (Owner’s House - 80 sq m) on the ground floor of the central building. It has 4 beds with the choice of adding up to 2 extra beds (bedroom for 2 single beds or a double bed + big living room with 2 sofa beds + kitchen + bathroom with shower and separated toilet without bidet + with a berceau and private back garden with outdoor table and chairs, under a pinus wood). A large and very particular flat furnished with antiques and some heritages from the Roman and Middle age.

big apartments: Dolmen

Apartment Dolmen (60 sq m) on the first floor at the back of the central building (next to the Menhir, a stone embedded in the ground, once incorrectly called Dolmen), with terrace and stained-glass arches. It has 4 beds with the choice of adding an extra bed (double bedroom + bedroom for 2 single beds or a double bed + living room with kitchenette + bathroom with shower + small covered entrance terrace with outdoor table and chairs). The flat has a light veranda, is furnished with antiques and is equipped with a fireplace.

Accomodation

Our seven apartments, inside three different garden cottages, with a total of 20 beds can accommodate two to four guests each (with additional beds available in addition) and have all been recently refurbished in the local style. Apartments have either one or two bedrooms, one bathroom (with shower), living room and fully equipped kitchenette, a dedicated entrance and private veranda.
The local restaurant is just 350 m. down the road and offers discount contracted rates to our guests (about 13/15 Euro for an average complete meal). You can pick grapes, figs, cherries and nuts. Typical wines and extra virgin olive oil are available.
We welcome pets but do ask for advance notice.

Around the farmstay

The main characteristic of the farm is its geographical position and very convenient road links; it is situated in the heart of the Abruzzo, the “green zone of Europe”; it is the ideal starting point to reach, in ten minutes’ drive, several interesting zones, both from the naturalistic point of view than from a cultural and historic reading; for this reason, itineraries and leaflets showing the most characteristic place to visit are available on the farm site. Indeed, in a few minutes you can reach the most beautiful vales of the National Park “Majella-Morrone”; in half an hour you can get to the National Park of “Gran Sasso -Laga”, and in an hour you are at the National Park of “Abruzzo”. A ten-minute drive will take you to the important thermal station of Popoli. In the winter you can go skiing on the Majella (45 minutes to reach the skiing plants and skilifts).
All around there are characteristic villages, and in about 20 minutes by car you can see the old historic centre (Roman and medioeval) of Sulmona which boasts the most interesting monuments in the region. In 30 minutes by motorway, you can reach the big commercial centre of the city of Pescara (provincial capital -150.000 inhabitants) with its long sandy beaches. The nearest village with services is 3 Km. away and the hospital just ten minute drive. To reach Rome it takes about one and a half hours (185 Km. by motorway), while 20 minutes to the international airport of Pescara (with directed flights from several European capitals).

Our farmstay is a 17th century coaching inn in 5 acres (2 hectares) of grounds within 25 acres (10 hectares) of farmland at 200 m. above sea level. We are ideally situated for excursions throughout this region of outstanding natural beauty and 10 minutes away from nature sports facilities. Our facilities include a swimming pool, BBQ, table tennis and mountain bikes.
We are located in the Abruzzo province, Italy, and nestled between two of the largest national parks in Europe, the Majella and the Gran Sasso. Pescara is the provincial capital. Located on the beach, it is just 30 minutes drive away and has an international airport with direct flights from London Stansted and other European capitals; Rome is 90 minutes by car
